About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) at McKay-Dee Hospital's OB/GYN Unit is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The unit is a 31-bed facility in Ogden, Utah, where nurses work closely with Patient Care Technicians to care for mother-baby pairs, lactation specialists are available, and the team aims to provide exceptional care.

Responsibilities

• Achieve appropriate assessments of physical, social, and psychological status.
• Evaluate patient responses to interventions and revise plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Direct the care team and delegate tasks as needed.
• Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to professional standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
• Coordinate patient care and manage resources efficiently.

Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Valid compact license transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• One or more years of RN work experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within four years of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: Current RN license, BLS certification, and BSN or willingness to obtain within four years.
• Physical requirements: Manual dexterity, visual acuity, hearing, and standing/walking for extended periods.
• Skills: Patient care delivery, nursing fundamentals, interdisciplinary teamwork, documentation, professional etiquette, accountability, patient care coordination, communication, patient evaluation, critical thinking.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $35.22 - $53.29, with actual rates dependent on experience.

Schedule

Variable shifts, self-scheduling every 8 weeks, 36 hours per week.
