How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Lead and grow a high-performing nursing team by overseeing hiring, personalized professional development, and performance evaluations to ensure a culture of clinical excellence.
  • Optimize the delivery of patient care by identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks, ensuring the unit has the resources and flow required for safe, effective treatment.
  • Create and implement forward-thinking unit policies that streamline workflows and improve the overall experience for both your staff and the patients they serve.
  • Champion clinical safety and excellence by ensuring all unit activities exceed regulatory and accreditation standards through proactive education and oversight.
  • Manage the unit's financial health by aligning expenditures and resources with the budget, ensuring the team is equipped with the tools they need to succeed while remaining fiscally responsible.

Requirements

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Required professional licensure/certification AND 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.

Additional preferences

  • BSN IS REQUIRED FOR MAGNET
  • 2 years of Surgery experience
  • Must have ability to review policies and update as necessary utilizing AORN Standards and Recommendations
  • Responsible for associate check-ins and completing evaluations
  • Attendance at assigned meetings
  • Conduct staff meetings monthly
  • Collaborate with CPD regarding education needs for the department
  • Other Responsibilities As Assigned
