Registered Nurse Manager (RN) - ER
About the role
This position supports Carondelet St Raphael's Emergency Center and Carondelet St Jospeh's Emergency Department. Key responsibilities include providing direct nursing care, overseeing budgets and capital, and leading a team.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care as required by patient demand in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Takes patient load and covers Clinical Lead position as needed.
- Provides financial review of administrative reports, accountability reports, benchmarking graphs, business plans, marketing initiatives, and variance reports.
- Takes action as required to meet productivity targets and control expenses.
- Oversees budgets and capital for department.
- Forecasts future budgeting needs and participates in budget development.
- Reviews department compensation, implements HR policies, recruitment, associate status changes, and associate access to patient care systems.
- Provides leadership and sets expectations for the roles & responsibilities for subordinates and Clinical Nurse Leaders.
- Develops staff competencies and provides information for staff positions.
- Provides performance coaching that may include performance improvement plans, corrective action, and termination.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Business, Public Administration, Management or related field. Candidates actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program may be considered by Nursing Leadership & Human Resources. Degree must be completed within an reasonable time frame – normally 24-months.
- Experience: 3 years’ related experience; minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge: Of team building, systems thinking, complex problem solving, negotiating and influencing; change and conflict management; data analysis; coaching and mentoring, strategic planning, business strategy development.
- Computer skills required.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current Arizona RN License in applicable discipline.
Qualifications
