Responsibilities

  • Provides direct resident care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) while ensuring safety, confidentiality, and compliance with facility policies and regulations.
  • Administers medications and narcotics, monitors resident conditions, responds to emergencies, and assists physicians with procedures to support optimal health outcomes.
  • Maintains accurate documentation, updates care plans, protects protected health information (PHI), and promotes a safe, therapeutic environment that respects resident rights and dignity.
  • Supervises CNAs and staff, supports families during crises, participates in ongoing education, and upholds the organization’s mission through professionalism, integrity, and high-quality care.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support Certification, required
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse Licensure, required
  • Graduate from college or diploma in the field of Registered Nursing

Qualifications

  • On the job training
  • One year medical-surgical or skilled nursing home experience, preferred
