About the role
The Medical Support Specialist (MSS) plays a vital role in delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered clinical support. Reinforcing patient confidence, supporting clinical accuracy, and ensuring a seamless experience throughout the visit.
Primary Responsibilities
- Aid patients to exam rooms and obtain accurate vitals.
- Perform treatments and administer medications as directed by the Provider.
- Assist with procedures including lab work and specialty treatment.
- Support patient check-in, check-out, and scheduling support to maintain clinic flow.
- Assist with front office or administrative tasks when clinic demand requires.
- Build rapport and provide reassurance during patient interactions.
- Communicate clearly about procedures and next steps.
- Support a comfortable, respectful, and professional environment.
- Provide education on treatment processes, next steps, and general expectations (within scope).
- Reinforce patient understanding of their care journey and support follow-up questions appropriately.
- Engage with patients regarding their experience and support continuity of care.
- Ensure accurate, timely charting and documentation.
- Follow all protocols for medication administration and lab processing.
- Maintain compliance with clinical standards and safety practices.
- Support efficient patient flow and minimize wait times.
- Collaborate with Providers, PRCs, and PEMs for seamless care delivery.
- Absorb and support other roles as needed to maintain patient flow and clinic efficiency.
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-first environment where patient needs come first.
Requirements
- Relevant certification (Medical Assistant or nursing per state requirements).
- Multi-tasking & Efficiency: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Problem-Solving: Ability to think quickly and resolve patient concerns.
- Strong clinical and interpersonal skills.
