RN, Registered Nurse

About the role

This position is part of a 3-person Care Team where you will have the opportunity to work alongside a Virtual RN and another bedside caregiver, giving you more time and help to focus on meeting the needs of each patient.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice;
• Aids provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments;
• Performs basic medical procedures under the supervision of a provider, including set up of procedures;
• Administers medications under the direction of the provider, according to the organization’s standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines;
• Aids in emergency situations under the direction of the provider;
• Thoroughly educates and explains procedures to patients and family members (diagnosis, disease process etc.);
• Documents accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines;
• Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of nursing;
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio;
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team;
• Basic computer skills required; prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred.

Skills

• Current BLS/CPR;
• Basic computer skills;
• Prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred.
