Registered Nurse Lead PNE

About the role

Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessing patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, ensuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, delivering individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients. Acts in a lead capacity to other nursing staff.

This position requires direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Administer medication to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
• Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
• Demonstrate best practices for staff to follow.
• May participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience in lieu of a degree is not accepted.
• Registered Nurse (RN) state license required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification (PALS) preferred.
• 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience required.

Skills

• Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
• Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships.
• Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
