About the role
A PRN Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating and providing patient care in a high-acuity maternity setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments
- Develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications
- Provide family-centered education
- Facilitate discharge planning
- Monitor patient condition, communicate changes to physicians
- Offer psychological and social support to patients and families
- Continuously evaluate and modify care plans based on patient responses
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical RN experience
- BSN degree
- Valid Texas RN license or Compact license (with Texas license within 90 days)
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS or ALS, and NRP
Skills
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to provide compassionate, family-centered care
- Teamwork orientation
