About the Role

Responsibilities
- Serve as a patient advocate and provide patient care through the development and implementation of ongoing systems and practices that promote and maintain quality nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Radiology Department.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including checking and verifying vital signs, medications, NPO status, lab results, and medical history.
- Insert and remove intravenous lines, and administer conscious sedation drugs and other medications.
- Monitor patient patterns and vital signs during procedures.
- Oversee the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Provide post-procedure monitoring, including observing for signs and symptoms of complications such as bleeding from the puncture site, pain, and/or changes in mental status or vital signs.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- Current Colorado Registered Nurse License
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- 2-3 years of experience in a specialty unit (Critical Care, ED, PACU, or Radiology) preferred
- Must be able to function independently, be multi-task oriented, and show excellent prioritizing skills
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
