Registered Nurse - Inpatient Psychiatry
About the role
Inpatient Psychiatric RNs work on two mental health care units: a 16-bed locked unit for both voluntary and involuntary individuals and a 12-bed locked unit for voluntary individuals requiring acute mental health care. RNs actively participate in treatment plans, treatment rounds, psychiatric assessments, and care, as well as medical/surgical assessments and care. This position is part of a multidisciplinary team including MHT/LNAs, RNs, providers, social workers/case managers, and group therapists.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required.
- ADN required, BSN preferred.
- Appropriate experience in specific clinical area varies by unit.
Qualifications
RNs are trained to cover the Charge RN role and to precept.
Skills
Nurses must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
