Registered Nurse - Inpatient Pediatrics

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Outpatient Infusion Department/Pediatric Unit provides exceptional nursing care to patients from pediatric to adult age groups in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Performing initial assessments and developing individualized care plans based on patient and family needs.
• Implementing nursing interventions, administering medications, and managing procedures such as dressing changes, catheter insertions, and IV starts.
• Monitoring patient intake and output, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring safety protocols.
• Communicating effectively with the healthcare team, reporting high-alert lab results, and collaborating to optimize patient outcomes.
• Serving as a mandated reporter for suspected abuse or neglect and providing constructive feedback to colleagues.

Qualifications

• Current RN license (IDFPR) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• College diploma in nursing, with experience in pediatric and infusion care preferred.
• Strong communication, documentation, and safety awareness skills.
