Registered Nurse - Inpatient Medical Intensive Care Unit

About the role

Step into the heart of critical care at our 21-bed Medical/Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, where every shift is a chance to make a profound impact. As a MICU RN, you’ll be part of a high-performing, interdisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional care rooted in the latest evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

• Care for some of the most critically ill patients in the region, including those experiencing neurological emergencies, cardiac crises, pulmonary challenges, severe infections, metabolic and toxicologic emergencies, gastrointestinal bleeding, advanced therapies, and end-of-life care.
• Collaborate with RNs, LNAs, RTs, PT/OTs, unit clerks, environmental services, interns, residents, fellows, and attending physicians to create a supportive, respectful environment focused on clinical excellence and compassionate care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to drive innovation in critical care.

Requirements

• Experience: Experience in ICU required. Candidates with 2 years or more of ICU experience will be considered first.
• Licensure: Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required.
• Education: ADN required, BSN preferred.
• Experience: Appropriate experience in specific clinical areas varies by unit.
• On-call: Not required.
