They collect, analyze, and present infection data, providing recommendations for improvement. The role involves monitoring staff adherence to infection control protocols, developing and delivering educational programs for staff, residents, and families, and serving as a resource across departments. Qualifications include a nursing diploma, an active RN license, CPR certification, and specialized infection prevention training. Preferred experience in geriatrics and relevant certifications such as Certified TB Nurse are advantageous. Key responsibilities include managing Public Health advisories, COVID-19 prevention efforts, and developing the Antibiotic Stewardship Program. The role requires knowledge of infection control practices, independent decision-making, and adherence to legal and organizational policies. Maintaining professional relationships, confidentiality, and compliance with company standards are essential.
