About the role

The RN Infection Preventionist assesses resident care quality related to Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) and Community Acquired Infections (CAI), ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and standards. This role involves monitoring staff adherence to infection control practices, delivering education to staff, residents, and families, and serving as a resource across departments.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and present infection data, providing recommendations to improve outcomes.
• Oversee public health advisories and COVID-19 response initiatives.
• Develop and implement antibiotic stewardship programs.
• Stay current on infection control trends and best practices.
• Make independent decisions while maintaining confidentiality.
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention practices and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or equivalent.
• Active RN license.
• CPR certification.
• Specialized training in infection prevention.
• Experience in geriatrics preferred.
