Position Overview

Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care in an acute patient setting. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in an assigned area. Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to promote an optimal patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate nursing care in an acute patient setting.
• Provide direct patient care and patient/family education.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care plans incorporating various patient factors.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers.
• Communicate effectively and timely to ensure optimal patient experience.
• Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and laws/regulations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing OR RN license evidencing completion of a RN program.
• RN-Registered Nurse license for the state where care is provided.
• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
• 2 years of recent relevant experience.

Skills and Knowledge

• Demonstrated general knowledge and competence in nursing theories, concepts, and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
• Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precautions, patient care, privacy policies, and regulatory changes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
• Time management and organizational skills to prioritize patient care and assignments.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Effective communication and engagement in stressful situations with team members, patients, and families.
• Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve routine or complex issues using existing procedures and critical thinking.
• Commitment to protecting patient privacy and PHI (Protected Health Information).
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and healthcare providers.
• Prioritize tasks and work within standardized policies and procedures to meet objectives and deadlines.

Schedule

• Full Time (40 hours per week).
• Shift: Days, 10-hour shifts.
• Variable days of the week, including rotating weekends.

Pay

Pay Range is $82.48 to $115.46 per hour. The compensation range may vary based on geographic location, candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program.
