Registered Nurse II - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
for section headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Include sections only if posting has real specific content. We need to parse the job description.
Content includes:
- Entity: MUHA, Worker Type, Worker Sub-Type, Cost Center, Pay Rate Type Hourly, Pay Grade Health-28, Scheduled Weekly Hours 36, Work Shift Rotating.
- Job Summary/Purpose: description of unit, patient population, capabilities, nurse:patient ratios, etc.
- Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred, RN staff hired after July 1 2013 with Associate/Diploma required to enroll in BSN program within two years and obtain BSN within four years. Minimum one year work experience as RN required.
- Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as RN by SC Board of Nursing or compact state. Current BLS required (AHA or Red Cross).
- Physical and Mental Requirements: long list of abilities.
- Additional note: "If you like working with energetic enthusiastic individuals, you will enjoy your career with us!" (maybe not needed but could be part of About the role? Might be considered fluff but still substantive? It's a statement about culture; we could include in About the role or maybe not needed. The instruction: preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. So we should keep that sentence.
- EEO boilerplate etc: remove.
- Application instructions: none.
We need to decide sections.
We have:
- About the role: could include entity, worker type, cost center, pay rate type, scheduled weekly hours, work shift, job summary/purpose (description of unit). That seems appropriate.
- Responsibilities: maybe the RN II duties: provides individualized goal-directed patient care, delivers safe and effective care, interacts with health care team. Also mention managing a-lines, lumbar drains, titrate cardiac drips, etc. Could be responsibilities.
- Requirements: Minimum Training and Education, Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations.
- Qualifications: maybe combine with Requirements? But we need separate sections only if content. Could have Qualifications for education/experience, and Requirements for licensure. But we can also put all under Requirements. However instruction: prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. So maybe combine education/experience and licensure into Requirements. But we also have Physical and Mental Requirements which could be a separate section: maybe "Physical Requirements" but not in allowed headings list. Allowed headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Physical requirements could go under Requirements or maybe Skills? Not ideal. Could put under Requirements as part of "Physical and Mental Requirements". That seems okay.
- Skills: maybe list specific clinical skills: managing a-lines, lumbar drains, titrate cardiac drips, Swan Ganz catheters, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impellas, ventilated patients, CRRT, etc. Also ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, latex safe environment, etc. Could be Skills.
- Benefits: not mentioned.
- Pay: we have Pay Rate Type Hourly, Pay Grade Health-28. Could include Pay section with that info.
- Schedule: Scheduled Weekly Hours 36, Work Shift Rotating (3-12 hour rotating shifts per week, including some weekends). So Schedule section.
Thus we will have sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Skills, Pay, Schedule.
We must not repeat job title as heading. No Job ID.
We must not include boilerplate like EEO, E-Verify, etc.
We must not include placeholder text like "commensurate with experience". Not present.
We need to preserve all substantive information. Let's extract details.

We'll produce:
About the role
Entity: Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA). Worker Type: Employee (Regular). Cost Center: CC000454 – CHS - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit 5W (ART). Pay Rate Type: Hourly, Pay Grade: Health-28. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36. Work Shift: Rotating (3‑12 hour shifts per week, including some weekends). 5 West, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) is a 23‑bed mixed acuity Heart and Vascular unit. Eight rooms are dedicated ICU‑level care (management of Swan‑Ganz catheters, intra‑aortic balloon pumps, Impellas, ventilated patients, CRRT). The remaining 15 beds serve acute and intermediate level patients. Patient population is primarily Cardiology and Vascular surgery patients; the unit also houses surgical oncology and plastic surgery patients and functions as a step‑down unit for Ashley River Tower. Nurses manage a‑lines, lumbar drains, and titrate cardiac drips. Nurse‑to‑patient ratios range from 1:2 to 1:4 based on acuity. The team is highly engaged, innovative, dynamic, and fast‑paced. If you enjoy working with energetic, enthusiastic individuals, you will enjoy your career with us.
That covers About the role. Next Responsibilities: maybe we can list duties: providing individualized goal-directed patient care, delivering safe and effective care, interacting with health care team, managing a-lines, lumbar drains, titrating cardiac drips, managing Swan-Ganz catheters, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impellas, ventilated patients, CRRT, etc. But some of those are already in About the role. To avoid duplication, we could keep responsibilities separate focusing on core RN II duties: providing individualized goal-directed patient care, delivering safe and effective care, interacting with health care team. However we risk losing detail about managing equipment. But we could incorporate those under Responsibilities as specific duties. Let's decide: Responsibilities bullet list: - Provide individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level using the nursing process. - Deliver safe and effective care. - Interact with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. - Manage a‑lines, lumbar drains, and titrate cardiac drips. - Manage Swan‑Ganz catheters, intra‑aortic balloon pumps, Impellas, ventilated patients, and CRRT. - Care for patients across acuity levels (1:2–1:4 nurse‑to‑patient ratios). - Function in a fast‑paced, innovative, dynamic team environment. We'll put as- .
Next Requirements: include education/experience and licensure/certifications.

RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN within four years of hire/reclassification. Minimum one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
Licensure and Certifications: Current RN licensure by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or AHA‑recognized equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider).
We could also include Physical and Mental Requirements under Requirements as a separate paragraph or list. But we have a separate Skills section for abilities. Let's put Physical and Mental Requirements under Skills? Actually they are requirements but physical. Could be under Requirements as a separate paragraph. We'll add:Physical and Mental Requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking (continuous); climb stairs (infrequent); work indoors (continuous); work outside in temperature extremes (infrequent); work from elevated areas (frequent); work in confined/cramped spaces (frequent); kneel (infrequent); bend at waist (continuous); twist at waist (frequent); squat (frequent); perform pinching operations (frequent); gross motor activities with fingers/hands (continuous); firm grasping with fingers/hands (continuous); fine manipulation with fingers/hands (continuous); reach overhead (frequent); repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows/shoulders (continuous); fully use both legs (continuous); use lower extremities for balance/coordination (frequent); reach in all directions (continuous); lift and carry 50 lbs unassisted (infrequent); lift/lower 50 lbs from floor to/from 36 inches unassisted (infrequent); lift from 36″ to overhead 25 lbs (infrequent); exert up to 50 lbs of force (frequent); maintain 20/40 vision corrected (continuous); see and recognize objects close or at distance (continuous); match/discriminate colors (continuous); depth perception (continuous); good peripheral vision (continuous); maintain hearing acuity with correction (continuous); perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements (continuous); deal
