Registered Nurse ICU Stepdown

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic ICU Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. In this role, you will provide care for patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessments, make clinical assessments, and manage treatment autonomously as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation
• Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team
• Use clinical judgment to manage delivery of patient care safely and effectively
• Monitor critical vital signs enabling intervention of life-threatening situations
• Educate patients regarding their medications, procedures, and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay

Requirements

• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required (compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation)
• 1+ years of RN experience in an acute care environment preferred
• Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree (BSN preferred)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of start
• American Heart Association ACLS Provider certification required within 6 months of employment start date

About the Hospital

HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital is a 221-bed acute care hospital serving Seminole and West Volusia County. We are a Level II Trauma Center and provide the only full-service cardiovascular program in the area, including open-heart surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation, and comprehensive diagnostic services. Additional services include orthopedic and spine care, robotic surgery, acute inpatient medical rehabilitation, and complete imaging services.
