Registered Nurse ICU- Nights

About the role

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the ICU Post‑Surgical Unit on the night shift. The hospital is a joint venture between Tenet Healthcare, USPI, and the Baylor Scott & White network, offering a 30‑bed acute‑care surgical facility with a 4‑bed ICU, emergency department, and advanced surgical technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of RN practice and according to hospital policies.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on individual patient needs and physician orders.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations.
• Identify educational needs, deliver patient/family education, and document the teaching.
• Manage acute and chronic pain, especially for post‑procedure or surgical patients.
• Administer medication with continual assessment of safety and patient response.
• Perform Medical Screening Exams for patients presenting from the Emergency Department, following delegated protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license.
• Current BLS certification; must obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum two (2) years of RN experience in a hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit.

• Ability to assess psychosocial, educational, and physical needs across pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational habits and ability to prioritize workload.
• Sound nursing judgment for decision‑making.
• Proficiency with Electronic Healthcare Records.

Schedule

Night shift, PRN (as needed) schedule.
