Registered Nurse - ICU/CCU - Per Diem Nights

About the role

The Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population, providing and ensuring safe and excellent delivery of individualized patient care. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and coordinating care across various settings.

Responsibilities

• Delivers nursing practices based on evidence-based research and standards of care.
• Performs comprehensive data collection and age-specific assessments.
• Develops and coordinates a patient-centered care plan with age-appropriate and disease-specific goals.
• Communicates and coordinates care with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
• Administers medications safely using advanced technologies and follows protocols.
• Coordinates multi-disciplinary discharge planning to ensure safe transitions and continuity of care.
• Evaluates patient progress towards achieving outcomes and initiates appropriate interventions.
• Identifies and addresses ethical issues and enhances patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an associate's degree in nursing or a diploma in nursing.
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification.
• ACLS certification by American Heart Association.
• At least six months of relevant nursing experience or participation in the Nurse Residency Program.
• Two years of nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in ICU, step-down unit, or emergency room.
• Competency in ventilator management, telemetry, ICU, titratable drugs, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• National certification in a relevant area of specialty preferred.
