About the role
The role is essential in delivering quality care through collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The incumbent ensures patient safety by adhering to established policies and procedures. They also assist patients and families in understanding their conditions and managing pain, ensuring they have access to appropriate support and resources.
Responsibilities
- Delivers quality care through the nursing process.
- Ensures patient safety by executing appropriate policies and procedures.
- Supports pain management and pharmacological measures.
- Identifies and supports individualized comfort measures.
- Mobilizes resources for complex cases.
- Formulates and documents a discharge plan.
- Anticipates and addresses potential healthcare needs.
- Provides information and interpretation of the patient's condition.
- Facilitates appropriate responses from other health care team members.
- Plans and provides unique comfort measures.
- Participates in various committees and performance improvement activities.
- Prepares for Joint Commission readiness.

Requirements
- Education: Associate's degree or graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Experience: Previous nursing experience preferred.
- Certifications: AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider, Registered Nurse - NJ, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale Certification, ACLS, NRP, PALS.
- Physical Demands: Frequent physical demands include pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, reaching forward, reaching overhead, squatting/kneeling/crawling, wrist position deviation, pinching/fine motor activities, keyboard use/repetitive motion, taste/smell, sitting, climbing (stairs/ladders), standing, walking, carrying objects, talking/hearing, lifting up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lifting above waist level, continuously standing/walking, carrying objects, talking/hearing, very accurate vision, near/far vision, color discrimination, accurate depth perception, accurate hearing.
- Safety: Anticipated exposure risks include bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, airborne communicable diseases, dust/particulate matter.
