Registered Nurse - ICU

About the role

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care during hospital stays, assessing, managing, and coordinating patient activities with a patient‑centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform age‑appropriate assessments, documentation, and reassessments, including post‑op and discharge needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on assessments, diagnosis, lab data, and physician orders.
• Administer medications, manage IV fluids, and coordinate referrals and consultations.
• Educate patients and families, involving them in discharge planning and decision‑making.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, ensuring safety and quality of care.
• Provide specialized care such as restraint management, pain control, and abuse assessment.
• Adhere to professional standards, policies, infection control, and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively, ensuring patient confidentiality and delivering service excellence.
• Engage in performance improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice to enhance care quality.
• Deliver age‑appropriate, cost‑effective services while maintaining a respectful and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the applicable state.
• Required certifications such as BLS.
• Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to quality care and safety.

Additional duties

• Participate in staff education and support a positive environment.
• Uphold infection control standards.
• May be involved in mentoring and supervisory roles.
