About the role

Epitec is seeking an Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse to support adult inpatient psychiatric care at Eleanor Slater Hospital in Cranston, Rhode Island. The role begins 11/02/2026 and supports the hospital’s transition to a new facility while delivering high‑quality patient care in an acute behavioral health environment. The position is long‑term, requiring flexibility with schedules and hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult inpatient psychiatric patients.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor physical and behavioral health status.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Maintain patient observations, clinical documentation, and required records.
• Participate in admissions, patient handoffs, care planning, and patient education.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support treatment goals and patient safety.
• Respond to behavioral and medical emergencies as required.
• Support safe and consistent unit operations during the hospital transition process.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license meeting Rhode Island practice requirements.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health settings preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Ability to adapt to changing workflows and patient care needs.
• Comfortable working all shifts, including mandatory every other weekend.
• Able to work a minimum of 24 hours per week and up to 40 hours per week.
• Required upon hire: Annual Physical, CPR Certification, TB Test (within 1 year), Tdap, MMR, Varicella, HepB vaccine proof or declination, Annual Flu vaccine or declination, Driver's License, N95 Fit Test, COVID vaccine proof (if available, not required).

Schedule

• 24‑40 hours per week.
• All shifts needed; schedule may include any day of the week.
• Mandatory every other weekend.
• Days off determined based on hospital needs.
• Long‑term contract.
