Registered Nurse I, Acute Care - Nights, Cobleskill Regional Hospital

Responsibilities
- Delivers safe patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Achieves patient outcomes by assessing, planning, delivering, coordinating, integrating, and evaluating nursing care.
- Supports patients through interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Directs and supervises patient care provided by LPNs and support personnel 100% of the time according to department guidelines.
- Enters accurate documentation of all patient care activities as measured by periodic random preceptor and supervisory chart review.
- Performs and documents Point of Care (POC) testing and quality control in accordance with established laboratory policies and procedures.
- Maintains and documents testing reagents/supplies and equipment according to established laboratory procedures.
- Advocates for patients to ensure their autonomy, dignity, and rights are preserved.
- Delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity.
- Ensures patients have informed consent signed for indicated procedures.
- Acts on behalf of patients in an ethical manner.
- Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses.
- Acquires and maintains current knowledge and skills in his or her area of practice.
- Submits complete orientation checklist and provides evidence of completion of all required training and competency validation.
- Participates in level appropriate number of hours of educational activity, related to job function annually.
- Helps to identify clinical problems requiring investigation.
- Assists in the collection of data within a structured format.
- Performs other duties as requested and observed by supervisor or manager.
Requirements
- 2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing, required or Vocational / Technical Diploma Professional Nursing Program, required or 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
- New graduate or less than one year of experience as a Registered Nurse, required.
- NYS licensure as Registered Nurse or valid interim permit, required.
- BLS certification will be required within 6 months.
- Other certifications may be needed based on department requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: 2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing, required or Vocational / Technical Diploma Professional Nursing Program, required or 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
- Experience: New graduate or less than one year of experience as a Registered Nurse, required.

Pay Range
USD $40.20/Hr. - USD $59.52/Hr.

Specific benefit offerings may vary by location and/or position. We are also offering a sign-on bonus for this position!
- RN (excluding management) sign-on bonuses are awarded in the amount of $20,000 for full time
- LPN sign on bonuses are awarded in the amount of $10,000 for full time
