About the role

The Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health is a caregiver for a specific patient population, focusing on expanding knowledge and skills, providing effective direct care, and coordinating patient care/unit activities.

Responsibilities

• Delivers nursing practices according to evidence-based research, policies, and standards.
• Performs comprehensive data collection and assessment, recognizing clinical and diagnostic status changes.
• Develops and coordinates a patient-focused plan of care, ensuring continuity of care and patient education.
• Communicates and coordinates care among nursing peers, physicians, and support services.
• Administers medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Multidisciplinary discharges patients to ensure safe transitions and continuum of care.
• Evaluates patient progress and initiates interventions based on patient conditions.
• Advises on ethical issues and adheres to the American Nurses Association Code for Nurses.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an associate's degree in Nursing or a diploma in Nursing.
• BSN in progress and willing to acquire within three years of hire.
• A current and valid Registered Nurse license to work at the assigned HMH location by date of hire.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Six or more months of relevant nursing experience, or active participation in the Nurse Residency Program.
• The ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, and demonstrate strong teamwork and patient focus.
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred.
