Registered Nurse, Health Center Group Manager

About the role
This is a full-time Registered Nurse, Health Center Group Manager role located in the Knoxville, TN area. The position offers a flexible schedule with onsite responsibilities 2-3 days per week and the opportunity to work from home when not traveling. The ideal candidate will bring 2+ years of management experience, primary or urgent care experience, and a personable approach to building strong relationships.
This role provides site-level leadership and manages day-to-day operations, including coordinating technical and administrative staff and health center operations for multiple health centers across contracts, working in partnership with an Associate Vice President (AVP) and/or multiple Directors of Client Operations (DCOs).
Responsibilities
- Oversees the management of single or multiple (2+) health centers and lines of service across contract(s).
- Manages staff processes, including health center managers and multiple technical Team Leads, as well as indirectly managing daily operational processes for Medical Directors and clinical providers.
- Assists in creating site-specific goals and measurements related to client needs, including managing metrics tied to Performance Guarantees.
- Ensures consistent communication across sites and with stakeholders, including alignment with DCOs for site-level priorities and messaging across the book of business (BOB).
- Compiles input and contributes to the performance appraisal process for all indirect reports.
- Follows appropriate processes for hiring, staff development, and performance management, providing input to AVP and DCO as needed.
- Responsible for interviewing, training, and onboarding new hires.
- Manages daily operations, workflow, work schedules, and timecard monitoring to ensure efficient and effective health center performance.
- Identifies process improvement opportunities, workflow efficiencies, conducts root cause analysis, and presents resolutions and recommendations to AVP and DCOs.
- Makes recommendations regarding staffing models based on objective scheduling and volume analysis for AVP and DCO approval.
- Understands and complies with all regulatory, procedural, and licensing requirements.
- Oversees the execution of the site-level quality program and supports AAAHC standards across sites.
- Provides oversight on Member Engagement Site Action plans and outcome reporting.
- Develops action plans around patient utilization and penetration.
- Monitors patient flow, scheduling, referrals, and patient satisfaction.
- Upholds corporate Values in alignment with the Art of Quality Service initiative.
- Completes reports as needed and assists Clinical Quality and Operations departments with investigations and issue resolution.
- Coaches and provides feedback to staff regularly.
- Manages internal budget, reviews expenses, purchases supplies, inventories equipment, medication, and lab tests.
- May serve as a client contact, providing reports and summaries of health center activities.
- Communicates and coordinates corporate messages and ensures implementation of policies and procedures.
- Assists in identifying and using per diem staff to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Collaborates with health center managers and Medical Directors to manage internal medical staff site issues.
- Communicates regularly with staff, conducts meetings, and provides updates.
- Acts as the health center’s infection control lead and collaborates with the corporate Director of Quality and Infection Control Officer.
- May provide patient care if qualified and where circumstances apply.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Current license as an RN in the practicing state.
- Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S) may be required for some sites.
- Current hands-on certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for healthcare providers is required.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the medical field.
- 2–3 years’ management experience, with prior experience managing a large group.
- Experience accessing CDC, WHO, APIC, or other industry standards for Infection Prevention practices.
