About the role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a specific nursing department or unit. They utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity. Collaborating with leadership, they provide clinical guidance, ensure continuity of care, and support hospital goals.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review diagnostic data related to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement change.
• Provide guidance during life-threatening situations and evaluate intervention effectiveness.
• Implement innovative processes to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, staffing, and performance evaluations.
• Contribute to initiatives that improve healthcare delivery and communicate effectively with team members.
• Support ongoing learning and development; perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a similar setting or specialty area.
• RN licensure with BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
• Computer literacy required; additional training and education preferred.
