About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the GI Lab utilizes the nursing process to deliver safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced procedural environment. They are responsible for patient assessment, care coordination with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are maintained. The role involves supporting endoscopic and gastroenterological procedures, patient education, and post-procedure recovery, all while adhering to service standards and organizational values.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care utilizing the nursing process
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams
- Support endoscopic and gastroenterological procedures
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Evaluate care effectiveness and ensure adherence to standards
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Licensing: Active RN license in Missouri or a Compact State, meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Certifications: BLS (within 30 days if not current), ACLS, and unit-specific certifications (may be obtained after hire)
- Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, and perform bending, kneeling, and reaching tasks
