This role involves very little to no bedside care and focuses on critical thinking, policy adherence, and teamwork.

About the Role

Gaudenzia’s Mission is to promote long-term recovery by providing comprehensive treatment and support to people with substance use disorder, co-occurring mental health disorders, and related conditions, regardless of individual circumstances.

Pay

$44-49.50 per hour

Schedule

  • Full Time Overnight shift: 7p-7a
  • Rotating weekends and holidays
  • Minimum holiday requirement: 1 major summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day) and 1 major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day—night shift: New Year's Eve)
  • Essential position: required to work during inclement weather
  • May be required to work shifts outside of assigned shifts during critical staffing shortages
  • For sites with multiple programs, may be required to work in any program based on staffing needs
  • PRN positions require 3 shifts per month

Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing
  • Must have a good standing license (LPN or RN) valid in the state of practice
  • Current CPR Certification

Experience

  • New Grads and Newly Licensed LPNs and RNs are welcomed and encouraged to apply—direct job experience is not required
  • RN 1: May be a recent graduate with up to one (1) year of experience
  • RN 2: Two (2) to five (5) years of nursing experience, with one (1) year in addictions, mental health, or related specialty
  • RN 3: Five (5) or more years of nursing experience, with two (2) years in addictions, mental health, or related specialty

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial nursing assessment for clients within 24 hours of admission in accordance with established program policies and state regulation
  • Arrange appropriate appointments with Health Care Providers to secure complete physical examinations, as well as required additional health screenings and supplemental tests
  • Administer medications, as well as supervise self-administered medications where appropriate and allowed by regulation
  • Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and accurate records in compliance with governing regulations and agency policy
  • Counsel clients on nutrition, health care, self-care, and symptom management
  • Ensure clients have appropriate medical coverage to guarantee safety, adequate care, and provider compliance for payment
  • Ensure proper storage of supplies as required by regulation
  • Assist in the facilitation of special events, including staff training, staff retreats, workshops, and facility events
  • Implement health seminars on topics such as HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, and mental health
  • Participate in treatment/multidisciplinary team meetings, as directed
  • Implement and assure adherence to infection control policies and practices
  • Provide education for clients regarding health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance
  • Maintain LPN license with good standing
  • Other related duties as assigned by Nurse Manager or designee
