About the role

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for their Float Pool II Department. The position embraces the hospital's mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities

  • Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while advancing personal knowledge and skills through feedback and guidance from more senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
  • Serve as role models to Level I nurses and utilize electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and embody Adventist HealthCare values to fulfill the nursing mission and vision.
  • Use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop a plan of care according to patient population, identify impending changes in patient condition accurately, and initiate corrective action.
  • Mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient-centered care.
  • Conduct purposeful rounding from a patient and family perspective, conduct efficient literature searches, and apply findings appropriately to practice.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice based on evidence.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Passing score on NCLEX
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Current Maryland State nursing license
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • American Heart Association ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area
  • Prior experience in inpatient behavioral health setting preferred

Work Schedule

This position is paid at a per diem rate of $60/hr. Employment Type: Per Diem
Hours per Week: 24 hrs/week commitment (96 hours per 4 weeks schedule)
Shift Type: Days
Weekend Requirements: Must include a minimum of one Saturday and one Sunday.
Holiday Requirements: Assigned holiday rotation
Shift Differential Eligible: Yes

Pay Range
