Registered Nurse - Float Pool

About the Role

This position involves providing independent nursing care in Medsurg, Telemetry, and Intermediate Care settings, focusing on routine and complex patient needs in accordance with treatment plans. The nurse assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, addressing psychological, emotional, social, and cultural aspects. The role requires flexibility to work across multiple units and adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process for comprehensive patient assessment and care planning.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor effects, and document care accurately.
• Educate patients and families on health management and resources.
• Coordinate patient throughput, admissions, discharges, and transfers to optimize flow.
• Supervise unit operations, equipment, and staffing needs, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Promote a safe environment through adherence to best practices and quality improvement activities.
• Delegate tasks to care team members as appropriate.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medsurg/Telemetry and Intermediate Care; 5 years preferred.
• Active RN license in the applicable state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS certification required for pediatric care.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare policies, safety standards, and medical equipment.
