Registered Nurse - Float Pool
About the role
This role offers experienced nurses the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care across a variety of inpatient units, adapting to different clinical settings while expanding skills and expertise.
Responsibilities
- Affords to assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact.
- Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization including staffing, time management, supplies and services.
- Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies.
- Participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.
- Engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completes all mandatory education requirements.
- Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.
- Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
- Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Required:
- A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- A Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
- CPR within 3 months of hire.
- ACLS within one year of hire.
Preferred:
- A Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing.
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
Qualifications
Minimum Required:
- Med-Surg, Telemetry, and Critical Care experience.
- Flexible, confident communicators.

Pay
$44.77 - $67.15 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
Night shift, 7:00PM - 7:00AM, 36 hours per week, every third weekend.
