Registered Nurse ER Throughput Coord RN

About the Role

As the RN Coordinator for ED Flow/Throughput, you will play a key role in ensuring patients move through the Emergency Department with clarity, clinical support, and thoughtful coordination. By aligning staffing, patient placement, and clinical resources, you’ll help teams deliver care that is organized, safe, and patient-centered. Your leadership will keep caregivers connected, supported, and focused on their mission to care for and improve human life.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating patient placement, triage processes, EMS handoffs, and inpatient transfers
• Aligning staffing plans with patient volume, acuity, and department needs
• Monitoring delays in care transitions and collaborating on solutions
• Supporting safety priorities, experience initiatives, and quality outcomes
• Partnering with physicians, nurses, and care teams to remove barriers
• Providing clinical guidance, escalation support, and patient care when needed

Requirements

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date)
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
• Associate Degree or Registered Nurse Diploma
• 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
• No travel required

About the Facility

HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is a four-story, 150,000-square-foot hospital with 70 private beds and a six-bed private ICU. We provide a full range of acute care services, including:

• Emergency services
• Inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging
• Inpatient and outpatient surgery
• Cardiac catheterization
• Laboratory and pharmacy services
• Full range of support services

Our Emergency Department (ED) is approximately 14,500 square feet and consists of 22 private treatment rooms, an EMS entrance, and a helicopter pad.
