Registered Nurse/ER

All previous permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for this travel position. All Swedish facilities honor an active compact license.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Must be open to floating to different campuses
• Every-other weekend shifts required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS

Responsibilities

• Care for typical emergency department patients, including Adult/Pediatric ER, Ambulance Triage, ED Holding, and Lobby Triage
• Manage 11 hallway beds and 29 standard beds (40 total)
• Perform breathing treatments, chest tube set-up/care, CPAP/BiPap, and procedural sedation
• Conduct Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI)
• Provide trach care and ventilator management
• Administer blood/blood products
• Perform cardioversion/defibrillation
• Use cooling/warming blankets
• Operate CRRT/Dialysis equipment
• Obtain 12-lead EKGs
• Use rapid infusers

Schedule

• Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Shift start times: 0700, 0900, 1200, 1500, 1900
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks
• Non-holiday Days Time Off (DTO): 5 days (1 week) added to the end of the contract; more than 5 days requires manager consideration

Pay

• Overtime multiplier: 1.3% for hours worked beyond 40 in one week
• No double-time multiplier
• Call back pay: 1.3%
• Holiday pay: 1.3% for observed holidays
