Registered Nurse, Emergency Services
About the role
As a Registered Nurse in Emergency Services at North Alabama Shoals Hospital, you will join a fast-paced, team-driven environment where high-quality emergency care makes a real impact every day. Responsibilities
- Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
- Evaluate patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and Handle with Care preferred; must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Two to three years of experience preferred, but new graduates are welcomed to apply.
