The Emergency Room (ER) at Jackson Purchase Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This is a 14-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support. Responsibilities
- Demonstrate professional development and clinical competency; utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment.
- Document patient care given.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Work with patients' families to help improve the patient's abilities and help them deal with family members' illness.
Requirements
- RN license required
- Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire
- Handle with Care (HWC) certification within 6 months of hire
- One year of experience preferred
- ASLS certification preferred

Jackson Purchase Medical Center is a 107 all-private-bed, Joint Commission-accredited facility. From emergent to elective, our facility offers a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including those offered at the New Beginnings Birthing Center, the Advanced Healing Wound Care Center, and our accredited chest pain center. JPMC has been voted as the Hospital of choice by patients and team members four out of the last six years.
