Employment Type: Full time, 12-hour night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week. Every third weekend and rotating holidays.
About the role
Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the Emergency Department. Serving the Wilmington community and Northern New Castle County, the Emergency Department is a Level III Trauma, 27-bed unit and the first and only Geriatric-certified Emergency Department in Delaware. Responsibilities
- Adhere to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Assist emergent patients and document accordingly using the Emergency Room nursing tool.
- Identify patient needs based on objective data and follow through with appropriate documentation.
- Implement appropriate nursing actions for each patient.
- Make decisions that reflect knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
- Discuss planned patient care and expected outcomes with the patient and/or family, and document accordingly.
- Identify and appropriately utilize a multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.
Requirements
- ASN required, BSN preferred, from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Delaware.
- Previous ER and/or Acute Care experience required.
- BLS and ACLS certification required; must obtain PALS within 6 months of employment.
