Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, patient- and family-centered emergency care across a wide range of conditions
  • Utilize the Nursing Process and ENA standards to assess, analyze, and interpret patient data
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate nursing interventions
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions
  • Communicate the nursing plan effectively to patients and families
  • Coordinate care with physicians, technicians, and specialty teams
  • Support patients and families emotionally and holistically during vulnerable moments
  • Collaborate with other health care providers to determine patient and family needs
  • Participate in 'Hand Off' communication between shifts and departments
  • Maintain infection control protocols and policies
  • Adhere to annual mandatory education requirements
  • Assume role of Resource Nurse or Triage RN as necessary
  • Perform safely and efficiently in emergency situations
  • Assume role of Team Leader for small projects or work groups

Qualifications

  • One year of acute care medical-surgical experience (or equivalent)
  • Emergency nursing experience preferred
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification preferred, required within twelve months of hire
  • Pass basic medication test prior to hire
  • Pass basic tele test by end of orientation

Pay

The pay range for this position is $37.08 - $92.84. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors including seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.

Schedule

Rotating shifts available, Per diem role requires a minimum of 16 hours worked per month.
