About the role
The client is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide cross-coverage across Medical-Surgical and Emergency Department services in a small acute-care hospital environment. The role requires broad acute-care experience and the ability to provide safe, competent nursing care across inpatient, observation, swingbed, emergency, and outpatient infusion settings.
- 6 Medical-Surgical beds
- 3 Emergency Department beds
- Outpatient infusion services
- Inpatient, observation, and swingbed care
Common patient conditions may include CHF, COPD, postoperative orthopedic cases, pneumonia, UTI/altered mental status, and failure to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, competent nursing care across Medical-Surgical and Emergency Department settings.
- Float between assigned clinical areas as required.
- Support inpatient, observation, swingbed, Emergency Department, and outpatient infusion workflows.
- Assess patients and provide nursing interventions based on individual conditions and acuity.
- Monitor changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to evolving clinical needs.
- Utilize Athena EMR for clinical documentation and patient-care workflows.
- Collaborate with physicians, providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
- Follow established clinical, safety, infection-control, and medication-administration procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant RN experience.
- Experience in Medical-Surgical/inpatient, observation, swingbed, Emergency Department, or comparable acute-care settings.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current PALS certification.
- Current TNCC certification.
- Current AHA Procedural Sedation Module.
- Prior travel assignment experience.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts.
- Ability and willingness to float between multiple clinical areas.
- Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, communication, and patient-care skills.
Additional Requirements
- This assignment is open to both local and travel candidates.
- Candidates must reside at least 1 mile from the assignment location.
- Floating between clinical areas is required.
- No on-call requirement.
- Candidates must be available for the full 13-week assignment.
Pay
$55 – $58 per hour
