About the role

The Emergency Department at Baptist Nassau provides high-quality, patient-centered emergency care to coastal communities in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. As a highly advanced, community-based hospital, Baptist Nassau offers a collaborative environment where nurses play a vital role in delivering exceptional care and improving patient outcomes.

This is a full-time, night shift opportunity with scheduled shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients requiring treatment for medical, surgical, and emergent conditions.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Coordinate care with ancillary services to support optimal outcomes.
  • Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring safety and satisfaction.
  • Participate in staff meetings, unit-based initiatives, and continuous quality improvement.

  • Provide for patient needs using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement.
  • Organize and supervise care provided by supportive personnel.
  • Coordinate care provided by ancillary services, including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
  • Educate patients/SO/families about their disease process and plan of care.
  • Serve as a patient advocate and provide care to patients requiring treatment for any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of Medical Surgical Nursing experience (required).
  • Telemetry experience (required).
  • Emergency Department experience (preferred).
  • Hospital experience (required).
  • Diploma Nurses must have 5+ years of progressive care.

Qualifications

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (required).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), TNCC, or NIHSS certification (preferred).
