About the role

Baptist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team at Baptist Emergency at Nassau Crossing in Yulee, Florida. This full-time opportunity involves working the night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). Baptist Emergency at Nassau Crossing delivers high-quality emergency services to the growing communities of Nassau County and North Florida, providing efficient, patient-focused care with convenient local access.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition.
• Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement.
• Educate patients and families about their disease process and plan of care.
• Interact with physicians and other departments within the hospital.
• Coordinate care provided by ancillary services.
• Act as the patient advocate.
• Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities.
• Provide for patient needs using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Organize and supervise care provided by supportive personnel.
• Coordinate care provided by ancillary services, including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
• Serve as a patient advocate for those requiring treatment of chronic medical conditions, minor injuries, or illnesses.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of Medical Surgical Nursing experience.
• Emergency Department experience preferred.
• Hospital experience.
• Telemetry experience.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (required).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• Licensed Registered Nurse (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred; required within 6 months for Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs).
• Certified Emergency Registered Nurse (CEN) (preferred).
• Conscious Sedation Certification (preferred).
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (preferred).
• Trauma Nurse Core Course Certification (TNCC) (preferred).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire for Free Standing EDs and within 6 months for Wolfson Children's Hospital ED.

Schedule

Full-time, night shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.

Pay

Eligible for up to a $7,500 sign-on bonus if hired externally.

Primary location: Nassau Crossing – Main Building (Freestanding ED).
