About the role
Provides clinical leadership in an acute inpatient setting, ensuring patient-centered care through evidence-based nursing practices.
Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive patient assessments.
- Develops and updates individualized care plans collaboratively with patients and healthcare teams; sets measurable goals for discharge and recovery.
- Delegates tasks appropriately, monitors quality of care, and maintains a safe environment aligned with safety protocols and regulatory standards.
- Evaluates patient responses, revises care plans as needed, and documents progress accurately.
- Facilitates patient and family education, addressing learning needs and ensuring continuity of care.
- Serves as an advocate, fostering effective communication within the team, and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with policies, licensure requirements, and professional standards; maintains ongoing competency and professional development.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing (bachelor’s preferred).
- RN licensure and at least one year of RN experience or equivalent residency training.
- Strong knowledge of safety, regulatory requirements, and patient care standards.
- Ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and utilize resources efficiently.
- Demonstrates professional accountability and commitment to quality improvement.
This role reports to a supervisor and may include night shifts within a hospital’s emergency department.
