Registered Nurse - Dialysis - RN

Responsibilities

• Coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
• Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care.
• Functions within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
• Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and availability of resources.
• Possesses excellent communication skills; mentors and teaches; may participate on committees or projects.
• May drive a personal vehicle as part of the role responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program, as recognized by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA.
• If not from an accredited program, at least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is required.
• For RNs hired after April 1, 2020, must provide evidence of baccalaureate degree completion within five years from the last day of the month of hire.
• For RNs hired before April 1, 2020, must provide evidence of baccalaureate degree completion as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, and on-call.
• Adapts to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
• Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.
• Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
• AZ - Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• Maintains current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• BSN preferred.
• One year dialysis experience required.
