Registered Nurse - Dialysis

About the Role

The Acute Registered Nurse provides specialized dialysis care within a hospital setting, supervising patient care activities and assisting healthcare staff. They perform patient assessments, administer medications, operate and troubleshoot dialysis equipment, and ensure compliance with legal and institutional policies. The nurse collaborates with physicians and hospital teams, maintains accurate documentation, and promotes quality patient outcomes. They participate in infection control, staff training, and process improvements to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Administer dialysis treatments and medications per physician orders.
• Perform patient assessments before and after treatments.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot dialysis machines and water systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and legal regulations.
• Document patient data and treatment information accurately.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams and communicate patient status effectively.
• Participate in staff training, quality initiatives, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Valid RN license, preferably with dialysis experience.
• CPR certification.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow safety protocols, and work collaboratively.
• Must pass color screening and meet hospital employment standards.
