About the Role
The RN Charge Nurse oversees nursing services each shift, acting as a nursing supervisor and providing staff supervision during operational hours.
Responsibilities
- Improve patient health outcomes
- Manage supplies and staff labor
- Review medication profiles and administer medications
- Assist with physician rounds
- Implement anemia and medication protocols
- Respond to emergencies
- Maintain compliance with healthcare laws and regulations
- Provide direct patient care in dialysis if permitted
- Communicate patient assessments to the healthcare team
- Collaborate with medical staff in patient care planning
- Orient new staff members
- Support updates to nursing policies and procedures
- Assist in hiring, evaluating, and disciplinary actions of staff
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in good standing
- Minimum of 12 months of nursing experience, including at least 3 months in dialysis
- CPR certification
- Strong communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to function effectively in leadership roles
