JOB SUMMARY
Demonstrates the knowledge and judgment needed to utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate each patient’s nursing care.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Licensure/Registration/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- BLS certification for health care provider ; ACLS preferred
- Work Experience: 1 year minimum nursing experience in acute care setting. Completes probationary period with satisfactory evaluation.
Physical & Other Factors
- On feet most of the day.
- Frequent lifting, stretching and other physical exertion during positioning of patients and moving equipment.
Work & Environmental Conditions
- Exposed to patients’ conditions and some unpleasant sights, smells and contagious diseases.
- Working Conditions Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
- Occupational: significant occupational risk
- Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
- Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
