Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care for intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg level
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence-based practices
- Perform accurate hand-offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes
- Administer medications, monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post-ICU), and support recovery
- Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit-based quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN); BSN preferred
- Current Missouri RN license or compact license
Qualifications
- Required: BLS (American Heart Association)
- Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN, or other Stepdown-related certifications
