Registered Nurse - Critical Care Stepdown (Days)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Critical Care Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care for intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg levels.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized nursing care using evidence-based practices.
• Performing accurate hand-offs and bedside shift reports to ensure patient safety.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including physicians and advanced practitioners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administering medications, monitoring complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post-ICU), and supporting recovery.
• Participating in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, huddles, and shared governance activities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN; BSN preferred).
• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.
• Required certifications: BLS; additional certifications like ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN are preferred.
