Registered Nurse - Critical Care Float Pool (Nights)

Practice at the highest level of nursing in Mercy’s Critical Care Float Pool. Bring your expertise to the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Progressive Care/Stepdown units where it is needed most.

About the role

As an experienced critical-care nurse in our float pool, you will work in fast-paced environments, solve complex clinical problems, and enjoy variety in your daily practice. The team supports Mercy’s Emergency Department, ICU, and Progressive Care units.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care across multiple critical-care settings
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Respond quickly to changing patient conditions and emergent situations
• Mentor newer nurses and serve as a resource for best practices in critical care

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice
• Minimum of 2 years of recent, full-time critical-care experience (ICU, ED, or Progressive Care)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred)
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and communication skills
• Ability to float seamlessly between units and adapt to varying workflows
