Registered Nurse Clinical Supervisor

About the role

As an RN Clinical Supervisor, you will provide day-to-day support and oversight of homecare and hospice staff while maintaining hands-on field RN duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Clinical Operations Leader on daily referrals, case assignments, and ensuring client visits comply with agency and CMS regulations.
• Coordinate and oversee new RN employee orientations, including 90-day competency completion and a detailed first-year development plan.
• Provide clinical oversight of home health and hospice plans of care to ensure quality and proper episode management.
• Foster open two-way communication and ongoing coaching to maintain compliance with accepted standards of practice.
• Address practice deficiencies proactively and promptly.
• Build professional, respectful relationships through coaching, supervision, active listening, and feedback.
• Conduct on-site reviews of nursing staff every six months or as needed based on performance.
• Collaborate with leadership to schedule, plan, and deliver monthly team meetings and debriefings, ensuring engaging and informative sessions.
• Stay current on essential RN functions to serve as a field RN when operational needs arise.
• Assist with RN orientation agendas, including documentation, preceptor pairings, and staff development schedules.
• Maintain contact with new employees and preceptors to monitor development and provide performance documentation to HR.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
• Five years of home health clinical experience, with at least two years in a supervisor position preferred.
• Prior hospice experience highly desired.
• Valid Vermont State Nursing license.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment background checks (driver record, criminal, adult/child abuse).
• Proof of auto insurance required at time of employment.
• Ability to display flexibility, balance multiple tasks, demonstrate time management, and work with minimal supervision.
