Registered Nurse Circulator- Operating Room (20 hours /wk. Part-Time Benefits) Days-Dearborn

General Summary

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers quality compassionate patient care in a multi-specialty OR setting, including cataract surgery.
• Works in a 3 room OR that offers a variety of surgical services such as Ophthalmology, General, Plastics, GYN, Ortho Hand, Ortho Foot, Urology and ENT.
• Communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
• Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures their implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• OR Circulating experience (1-2 years).
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
• Scrubs knowledge is a plus.
• Prior operating room experience required.
• Positive attitude required.
• Team player and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.

Schedule

The unit is open Monday-Friday. Shift is 0630-1500 (occasionally required to stay over to finish cases). This position will work 5 days per 2 week pay period.
